(House Bill 1433)
AN ACT concerning
State General Obligation Bonds - Registration
FOR the purpose of clarifying the authority of the Board of
Public Works to issue State general obligation bonds in
registered form; and authorizing the Treasurer to appoint
agents in connection with the issuance of registered bonds;
authorizing the Treasurer to enter into certain agreements;
and generally relating to the issuance of registered bonds.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 31 - Debt - Public
Section 21(b)(4)

BY adding to

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 31 - Debt - Public
21.
(b) The Board has complete authority and discretion by
resolution to fix and determine with respect to the bonds of any
issue:
(4) The form (which may include provisions for
issuance in coupon form [and for the registration of coupon bonds
as to principal only),] OR REGISTERED FORM, INCLUDING ANY FORM
QUALIFYING AS "REGISTERED FORM" WITHIN THE MEANING OF SECTION 103
OF THE INTERNAL REVENUE CODE OF 1954, AS AMENDED, AND ANY
REGULATIONS PROMULGATED OR PROPOSED THEREUNDER, AS AMENDED FROM
