1888 LAWS OF MARYLAND
INSTITUTIONS AND OTHERWISE PROVIDING for centers THAT ARE in
residences or other facilities [with capacities of] AND SERVE
between 7 and 12 children [to encourage the care of infants and
other children in a homelike environment, with particular regard
to the impracticability of conforming a residence to standards
appropriate to institutional environments]; and (5) Carry out otherwise the purposes and requirements
of this subtitle. 14-105. (b)  This section does not apply to a family DAY care home
[licensed] REGISTERED under Article 88A, [§ 32A] §§ 32D THROUGH
32H of the Code. 17-204. The Secretary: (2) May set a fee for the proficiency [test] TESTING
program. 18-206. (a) ["Sentinel birth defects" include:] IN THIS SECTION,
"SENTINEL BIRTH DEFECT" INCLUDES: (1)  Anencepha1y; (2)   Spina bifida; (3)  Hydrocephaly; (4)  Cleft palate; (5)  Total cleft lip; (6)  Esophageal atresia and [stenosis] STENOSIS; (7)  Rectal and anal atresia; (8)  Hypospadias; (9)  Reduction and deformity - upper limb; (10)  Reduction and deformity - lower limb; (11)  Congenital dislocation of the hip; and (12)  Down's syndrome. (c)  (2) If the Department shows a need for the individual
identity of children without sentinel birth defects to conduct a
case-control investigation, paragraph (l)(ii) and (iii) [shall
apply] OF THIS SUBSECTION APPLIES.
