(a)  Any [State resident desiring] PERSON WHO OWNS OR IS IN
CHARGE OF OPERATING A VESSEL UTILIZED to catch crabs in the
waters of the State for commercial purposes [and every person
working on any boat used to catch crabs for commercial purposes
first] shall obtain a [numbered] license. (b)  Any person crabbing from a "for hire" boat operated by
the owner, who is present on the boat and is licensed to catch
crabs for commercial purposes, is not required to obtain a
license. [(c) Every applicant for a commercial crabber's license
shall pay a license fee of $10 and, in addition to this sum, 25
cents to the issuing clerk of the court if application is made to
the clerk of the court. A commercial crabber's license is valid
for the year in which it is issued. (d)  A commercial crabber's license holder may catch crabs
with a scrape, net, dip net, or trotline. (e)  Any person catching crabs for commercial purposes, or
for noncommercial purposes using a sports crabber's license,
shall exhibit his license upon the demand of any natural
resources police officer or any law enforcement officer of the
State. (f)  Any person over 64 years of age or under 14 years of
age, is not required to pay the license fee specified in this
section.] [(g)] (C) (1) Any [State resident] PERSON desiring to catch
crabs in the waters of the State for noncommercial purposes by
using a trotline in excess of 300 feet first shall obtain a
[sports crabber's] license. [(2) A sports crabber's license may be obtained
according to the provisions of § 4-806 of this subtitle for a fee
of $5, if application is made to the clerk of the court and, in
addition to this sum, 25 cents to the issuing clerk of the court.
A sports crabber's license is valid for the year in which it is
issued.] [(3)] (2) Only one occupant on a boat used to catch
crabs for noncommercial purposes shall be required to have a
[sports crabber's] license. The daily catch of the boat shall be
limited to 3 bushels per licensee. [(4)] (3) A person holding a commercial crabber's
license TO CATCH CRABS FOR SALE may catch crabs for noncommercial
purposes in accordance with the provisions of this section
without [obtaining a sports crabber's license) PAYING THE FEE FOR
NONCOMMERCIAL CRABBING. (D) A PERSON WHO DOES NOT POSSESS A LICENSE TO CATCH CRABS
MAY NOT CATCH MORE THAN ONE BUSHEL OF CRABS ON ANY DAY.
