(ii) An individual 65 years old or older may
elect to be exempt from payment of the license fee under
paragraph (i) of this subsection for up to 400 yards. If the
individual desires more yardage, he may pay a $25 fee for up to a
total of 1,000 yards. However, only the licensee under this
paragraph may fish the gill net that is exempted from paragraph
(i) of this subsection, and the licensee under this paragraph is
restricted to a total of 1,000 yards of gill net. (3)  Pound net. -- $20 for each net. (4)  Haul seine. -- $6 for each 100 yards or fraction
of 100 yards and $10 for each seine licensed. (5)  Hook-and-line. -- $50 for each person licensed. (6)  Commercial net ocean fishing license. (i) Gill net. -- $10 for each 100 yards or
fraction of 100 yards. (ii) Pound net. -- $20 for each net. (iii) Haul seine. -- $6 for each 100 yards or
fraction of 100 yards and $10 for each seine. Every fee shall be deposited to the credit of the Fisheries
Research and Development Fund. (e) The Department may not issue a license to set any net
or other device for catching finfish for commercial purposes in
the tidal waters of the state unless the device or net is
authorized by subsection (c).] [(f)] (C) The Department may not grant a license to any
person, under the provisions of this subtitle, to set a pound net
on the location occupied by any other [licensee] POUND NET or
within 4,500 feet in the Chesapeake Bay or 1,500 feet in a
tributary of the Chesapeake Bay measured at right angles to the
line of stakes, unless the other licensee failed to apply for
renewal of his license by [December 1] THE EXPIRATION DATE of the
year for which it was granted. [(g) A person who holds any license issued under this
section may not obtain a restricted gill net permit under § 4-709
of this subtitle.] 4-705. [(a) A commercial net fishing license issued under this
subtitle expires on December 31 of each year. It is renewable
annually, unless revoked or suspended for cause. An application
for renewal for the ensuing year shall be filed by December 1 of
the preceding year. Except as provided in subsection (b), if a
licensee fails to make bona fide use of a commercial net fishing
