CHAPTER 523
(Senate Bill 194)
AN ACT concerning
Water, Ice, and Sanitary Facilities - Remedies
FOR the purpose of providing that the term "person" as used in
Title 9, Subtitle 2 of the Health Environmental Article
shall include the federal government, this State, any
county, municipal corporation, or other political
subdivision of this State or any of their units; altering
certain civil penalties and authorizing certain criminal
penalties and injunctive relief for violations of for
failure to comply with any order of the Secretary of Health
and Mental Hygiene issued pursuant to Title 9, Subtitle 2 of
the Health - Environmental Article , rules, and regulations
promulgated under that subtitle, and certain permits and
orders issued by the Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene;
and authorizing the compromise and settlement of any claim
for a civil penalty under certain circumstances.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Health - Environmental
9-201.
(a) In this subtitle the following words have the meanings
indicated.
(b)(1) "Basic main facilities" includes:
(i) Sewage treatment plants;
