its mayor and town council and SHALL BE APPROVED by the licensing
authority. 25. (k) (1) In Worcester County, the board of license
commissioners may issue a special permit to the holder of a six
(6) day Class B or Class C beer, wine and liquor license located
in the county to permit the licensee to sell alcoholic beverages
to bona fide conventions and such other special groups as may be
approved [first] by the mayor and city council of the
incorporated town (if any) in which the premises are located, IF
THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL ELECT TO EXERCISE THIS POWER, and
[then] AS SHALL BE APPROVED by the board of license commissioners
for consumption on the premises only on Sunday during the hours
of 12:30 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. the following Monday, prevailing
time. The holder of such a license shall be entitled to exercise
the privileges thereof at the time and place therein described
upon the payment of a fee at the rate of ten dollars ($10.00).
Application for such permit shall be made not less than ten (10)
days prior to the day upon which the permit is to be exercised.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1983. Approved May 24, 1983.
CHAPTER 500 (House Bill 1497) AN ACT concerning Correctional Institutions - Pre-release Unit for Women FOR the purpose of providing authority for the Commissioner of
Correction to operate a Pre-release Unit for Women;
providing the Commissioner with certain powers, authority,
duties, and functions relating to the pre-release unit;
requiring the Commissioner to develop certain comprehensive
rehabilitative pre-release services; providing for the
Division of Correction to furnish certain services;
providing that the Commissioner, with approval of the
Secretary of Public Safety and Correctional Services, may
contract with certain authorities, persons, or organizations
to provide food, housing, transportation, and programs to
inmates in a pre-release unit for women; providing that the
Commissioner may house federal prisoners in a pre-release
unit for women; providing that the Commissioner, in
conformity with certain rules and regulations, may delegate
authority to certain directors or assistant directors to
