(h) Consistent with the State budget, [and] Article 21, and
[subject to approval of the Board of Public Works] OTHER
APPLICABLE PROVISIONS OF LAW, the Secretary may contract with any
person to provide services, [including consultant services,]
SUPPLIES, CONSTRUCTION, AND MAINTENANCE for the Department or for
any transportation related purpose.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1983.

(House Bill 1075)
AN ACT concerning
Pensions - Correctional Officers and Maximum
Security Attendants
FOR the purpose of clarifying the pension, disability, and death
benefits applicable to certain correctional officers and
certain maximum security attendants; establishing that
certain correctional officers and certain maximum security
attendants be similarly treated regarding these benefits;
providing for the receipt of ordinary and accidental
disability benefits; providing for the vesting of a
retirement allowance; providing for death benefits;
providing for the adjustment of the retirement allowance;
providing for a mandatory retirement age; providing for the
administration, management, and funding of certain
correctional officer's and certain maximum security
attendant's benefits; making stylistic changes; and
generally providing for the retirement and pension of
certain correctional officers and certain maximum security
attendants.
