(House Bill 1067)
AN ACT concerning
Procurement - Department of Transportation
FOR the purpose of providing that procurement of services by the
State Department of Transportation shall be made pursuant to
regulations adopted by; or approved by, the Board of Public
Works; and repealing the requirement that such procurements
be "subject to approval" of the Board of Public Works.
FOR the purpose of conforming certain provisions of the
Transportation Article to current State procurement
practices; and eliminating a provision relating to approval
of contracts by the Board of Public Works.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article - Transportation

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Transportation
2-103.
(h) Consistent with the State budget and Article 21, and
subject to [approval of] REGULATIONS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF
PUBLIC WORKS OR APPROVED BY the Board of Public Works, the
Secretary may contract with any person to provide services,
including consultant services, for the Department or for any
transportation related purpose.
