AN ACT concerning
Comprehensive Flood Management Program -
Flood Warning Systems
FOR the purpose of redefining the term management techniques to
require that flood warning systems be included in certain
flood management plans.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Natural Resources
8-9A-03.
(d) (1) By July 1, 1984, each subdivision, in cooperation
with the Departments of Natural Resources, State Planning,
Agriculture, and other appropriate State agencies shall prepare a
flood management plan, based upon an evaluation of the alternative
management techniques and other findings included in studies
conducted under subsection (b) OF THIS SECTION. Each flood
management plan shall be consistent with the purposes and
provisions of this subtitle.
(2) Management techniques may include:
[(1)] (I) Flood control dams;
[(2)] (II) Levees and dikes;
[(3)] (III) Stormwater detention or retention
structures;
[(4) Flood warning systems;
