(2) The results shall be reported within [6] 3 months
after the close of the fiscal year for the county board to the
State Superintendent and the county fiscal authority on the form
and in the manner required by the State Board.
(d) In addition to the audit required by this section, the
county commissioners or county council may conduct an audit using
auditors employed by the county.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1983.

AN ACT concerning
Medical Laboratory Examinations - Disclosures
FOR the purpose of requiring a medical laboratory to release
certain information to an individual under certain
conditions; and generally relating to a patient's access to
laboratory records.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Health - General
17-202.1.
(A) ON WRITTEN REQUEST OF AN INDIVIDUAL TO A MEDICAL
LABORATORY FOR A COPY OF THE RESULTS OF A LABORATORY EXAMINATION
OF THAT INDIVIDUAL, THE MEDICAL LABORATORY SHALL SEND A COPY OF
THOSE RESULTS THAT ARE SOUGHT TO THAT INDIVIDUAL.
(B) (1) IF THE RESULTS OF A LABORATORY EXAMINATION ARE
CONTAINED IN OR WILL BE FILED IN A MEDICAL RECORD, AS DEFINED IN
SECTION 4-302 OF THIS ARTICLE, THE REQUEST FOR A COPY OF THE
RESULTS SHALL BE MADE TO THE FACILITY PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS
OF SECTION 4-302 OF THIS ARTICLE.
