SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments
441.
(e) The term "crime of violence" means abduction; arson;
burglary, including common-law and all statutory and storehouse
forms of burglary offenses; escape; housebreaking; kidnapping;
manslaughter, excepting involuntary manslaughter; mayhem; murder;
rape IN THE FIRST AND SECOND DEGREE; robbery; robbery with a
DANGEROUS OR deadly weapon; SEXUAL OFFENSE IN THE FIRST AND
SECOND DEGREE; and sodomy; or an attempt to commit any of the
aforesaid offenses; or assault with intent to commit any other
offense punishable by imprisonment for more than one year.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1983.

CHAPTER 417
(House Bill 336)
AN ACT concerning
Investigative and Law Enforcement Officers
Wiretapping and Electronic Surveillance - Disclosure
FOR the purpose of altering, for purposes of provisions of law
relating to wiretapping and electronic surveillance, the
definition of investigative and law enforcement officers to
include officers of the United States.
FOR the purpose of providing that a law enforcement officer of
the United States may under certain circumstances disclose
the contents of a certain communication or the derivative
evidence while giving testimony under oath or affirmation in
any proceeding held under the authority of this State.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
