(2) Vehicles of volunteer fire companies, rescue
squads, fire departments, THE MARYLAND INSTITUTE FOR EMERGENCY
MEDICAL SERVICES SYSTEMS, and the Maryland Fire and Rescue
Institute;
(3) State vehicles used in response to oil or
hazardous materials spills;
(4) Ambulances; and
(5) Special vehicles funded or provided by federal,
State, or local government and used for emergency or rescue
purposes in this State.

(c) (2) (i) Vehicles of city, county, State, or federal
fire departments or duly constituted volunteer fire departments
or rescue squads, OR THE MARYLAND INSTITUTE FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL
SERVICES SYSTEM, may be equipped with or display red and/or white
lights or signal devices.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1983.

(Senate Bill 853)
AN ACT concerning
Maryland Historical Trust
FOR the purpose of authorizing the Maryland Historical Trust to
make loans and grants under the Capital Revolving Fund for
Historic Preservation and the Capital Grant Fund for
Historic Preservation, respectively, to political
subdivisions and business entities; permitting grants to be
made to business entities by the Maryland Historical Trust,
up to a certain amount of all grants made by the Trust under
a certain provision of the Annotated Code, and only for a
certain period of time; altering and clarifying the interest
rate that may be charged on loans under the Capital
Revolving Fund for Historic Preservation; changing the
submission date for annual reports to the Governor and the
Department of Fiscal Services; clarifying language;
generally relating to the Capital Revolving Fund for
Historic Preservation and the Capital Grant Fund for
Historic Preservation; and making this Act an emergency
measure.
