SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article - Corporations and Associations
2-106.
(a) The name of the corporation shall indicate its
corporate status. Corporate status is indicated if the name
contains one of the following words or [ends with] an
abbreviation of one of them:
(1) [Company] "COMPANY", if it is not preceded by the
word "and" or a symbol for [it] "AND";
(2) "Corporation";
(3) "Incorporated"; or
(4) "Limited[.]".
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act shall
take effect July 1, 1983.
