Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 572.
This bill allows motor vehicle insurers to grant
discounts in premiums for certain motor vehicle insurance
coverage for insureds over a certain age, and establishes
certain conditions to qualify for the premium discount.
House Bill 1015, which was passed by the General
Assembly and signed by me on June 1, 1982, accomplishes the
same purpose. Therefore it is not necessary for me to sign
Senate Bill 572.

Harry Hughes
Governor
