AN ACT concerning
Pensions - Eligibility Service
FOR the purpose of repealing the provisions that define
"service" for purposes of eligibility in the Employees'
and Teachers' Pension Systems.
BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,
Article 73B - Pensions
Section 114 and 143
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1978 Replacement Volume and 1981 Supplement)
The Speaker put the question: Shall the Bill pass,
notwithstanding the objections of the Executive?

Dear Mr. Speaker:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed House Bill 494.
This bill includes previous service time with the State
or with a public school as a teacher for credit towards
eligibility for benefits in the State Employees' and
Teachers' Pension Systems.
