19-101. DEFINITIONS.

(A)  IN GENERAL.

IN PART I OF THIS SUBTITLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE
MEANINGS INDICATED.

(B)  CERTIFICATE OF NEED.

"CERTIFICATE OF NEED" MEANS A CERTIFICATION OF PUBLIC
NEED ISSUED BY THE STATE AGENCY UNDER THIS SUBTITLE FOR A
HEALTH CARE PROJECT.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language derived
without substantive change from former Article
41, § 59D(e).

The former requirements that the certification be
"written" and "in accordance with the
requirements of the federal act, and this
subtitle" are deleted as unnecessary in light of
§ 19-115 of this subtitle.

(C)  COUNCIL.

"COUNCIL" MEANS THE STATEWIDE HEALTH COORDINATING
