13-410. COUNTY COMMISSIONS ESTABLISHED.

THERE IS A COMMISSION FOR PHYSICAL FITNESS FOR EACH
COUNTY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from the first clause
of the first sentence of former Article 41, §
344(a).

It is set forth as a separate section for
emphasis.

The former reference to Baltimore City is deleted
as unnecessary in light of the use of the defined
term "county".

13-411. COUNTY COMMISSIONS -- MEMBERSHIP; OFFICERS;
COMPENSATION.

(A)  COMPOSITION; APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS.

EACH COUNTY COMMISSION CONSISTS OF AT LEAST 15 BUT NOT
MORE THAN 25 INDIVIDUALS APPOINTED BY THE GOVERNOR WITH THE
ADVICE OF THE SECRETARY.

(B)  QUALIFICATIONS.

EACH MEMBER OF A COUNTY COMMISSION SHALL:

(1)  BE A RESIDENT OF THE COUNTY; AND

(2)  HAVE AN INTEREST IN PHYSICAL FITNESS.

(C)  CHAIRMAN.

FROM AMONG THE MEMBERS OF EACH COUNTY COMMISSION, THE
SECRETARY SHALL DESIGNATE A CHAIRMAN.

(D)  COMPENSATION.

A MEMBER OF A COUNTY COMMISSION MAY NOT RECEIVE
COMPENSATION.
