LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch. 21

THE COMMISSION SHALL MEET AT LEAST TWICE A YEAR, AT THE
TIMES AND PLACES THAT IT DETERMINES.

(C)  COMPENSATION AND REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES.
A MEMBER OF THE COMMISSION:

(1)  MAY NOT RECEIVE COMPENSATION; BUT

(2)   IS ENTITLED TO REIMBURSEMENT FOR EXPENSES
UNDER THE STANDARD STATE TRAVEL REGULATIONS, AS PROVIDED IN
THE STATE BUDGET.

(D)   STAFF.

IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STATE BUDGET, THE COMMISSION MAY
EMPLOY A STAFF, INCLUDING:

(1)  AN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR;

(2)  AN ASSISTANT; AND

(3)  A SECRETARY-STENOGRAPHER.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Article
43, § 885 and the sixth sentence of § 884(b) and
the first and second sentences of (e).

In subsection (b) of this section, the phrase "at
the time and places it determines" is new
language added for clarity.

Also in subsection (b) of this section, the word
"full", which formerly modified "Commission", is
deleted as inconsistent with the quorum provision
in subsection (a) of this section.

In subsection (c) of this section, the former
reference to reimbursement for expenses "incurred
in carrying out their responsibilities as members
of the Commission" is deleted as unnecessary in
light of the reference to the Standard State
Travel Regulations. Standard State Travel
Regulations are adopted by the Department of
Personnel with the approval of the Board of
Public Works.

In subsection (d) of this section, the former
reference to compensation is deleted as
unnecessary.

The third sentence of former Article 43, §
884(e), which stated that a majority of members
present may make decisions, is deleted as
