MUNICIPAL CHARTERS

Rule", to amend Section 82-15, title "Powers of
Commissioners as to Water and Sewerage Systems";
Subparagraph (b) of the Montgomery County Code 1972 (1977
Replacement Volume), as amended, being a part of the
municipal charter of The Commissioners of Poolesville, to
amend the provisions therein to require the owners of
existing properties abutting water and sewer mains to
connect all fixtures to such mains within six (6) months
after such mains are declared ready for operation by the
Commissioners of Poolesville; to make such requirements
applicable to properties developed after January 6, 1981, to
authorize the Commissioners of Poolesville, under certain
circumstances, to grant exceptions to such connection
requirements, to prohibit property owners who have been
connected to the municipal water supply system from, in any
way connecting any well to such system and to provide that
all wells found to be polluted or a menace to public health
shall be used only for fire protection, civil defense, car
washing, lawn, garden or similar outdoor watering.

[Section 82-15(b) of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Montgomery County, repealed and reenacted, with amendments.

Effective Date January 6, 1981]

CHARTER AMENDMENT RESOLUTION NO. 1-81

A RESOLUTION of the Commissioners of Poolesville
adopted pursuant to the authority of Article 11E of the
Constitution of Maryland and Section 13 of Article 23A of
the 1957 Annotated Code of Maryland (1981 Replacement
Volume), title "Corporations Municipal", subtitle "Home
Rule", to repeal and reenact with amendments Chapter 82,
title "Poolesville" of the Montgomery County Code 1972 (1977
Replacement Volume), as amended, being the municipal charter
of the Commissioners of Poolesville relating to the
incorporation, organization, government and affairs of said
municipal corporation to state the corporate name and
general powers of said corporation; to require a description
of the corporate boundaries to be on file with the Town
Clerk; to provide for the election, qualification and
compensation of five commissioners; to provide for the
election of a president and vice president of the
Commissioners and to specify their powers and duties; to
prescribe the time and place of meetings of the
Commissioners; to provide for the registration and
qualification of voters; to provide for the appointment of
Supervisors of Elections and to specify their duties; to
provide for the conduct of elections, challenges to voters
and loss of registration; to prescribe penalties for the
violations of charter provisions and ordinances relating to
elections; to provide for the appointment of a Town Clerk
and other officers and employees and to specify their duties
