5798                                      MUNICIPAL CHARTERS

WHEREAS, The proposed annexation and a charter
amendment to Section 1(a) of the Charter of the City of
Annapolis have been duly advertised and a public hearing
held in accordance with the provisions of Article 23A and
Article 66B of the Annotated Code of Maryland, and the
procedures for placing an appropriate zoning classification
upon the said property have been followed; and

WHEREAS, The Mayor and Aldermen of the City of
Annapolis have heard the recommendations of its Planning and
Zoning Director and of the Planning and Zoning Commission of
the said City upon the proposed zoning classification for
said property; and

WHEREAS, The Mayor and Aldermen of the City of
Annapolis have heard the evidence presented to it at a
public hearing held on Monday, April 27, 1981, in connection
with the said proposal and have determined that such
annexation would foster the continued growth and prosperity
of the City and be conducive to the orderly development of
the municipality and lands contiguous and adjoining thereto
in a manner most beneficial to the community and its
residents, property owners and citizens; and

WHEREAS, The said property presently carries a zoning
classification of MB under the Zoning Regulations of Anne
Arundel County; and

WHEREAS, The Mayor and Aldermen of the City of
Annapolis, after hearing the aforementioned recommendations
and after hearing the evidence presented to it in public
hearing, have determined that a zoning classification of Ml,
Light Maritime District, under the Zoning Regulations of the
City of Annapolis for this property would be in conformity
with the general development plan for the City and would be
compatible with existing uses and existing zoning
classifications of surrounding property;

[Section 1(a) of the Charter of the City of Annapolis,
Anne Arundel County, repealed and reenacted, with
amendments.

Effective Date June 30, 1981]
