(B) ELECTIONS AND TERMS OF OFFICE.

THE MANNER OF ELECTION OF OFFICERS AND THEIR TERMS OF
OFFICE SHALL BE AS THE TECHNICAL REVIEW COMMITTEE
DETERMINES.

REVISOR'S NOTE: Subsection (a) of this section formerly
appeared as Article 59, § 31A(c)(2).

Subsection (b) of this section is standard
language added for clarity.

The introductory phrase of subsection (a) of this
section, "{f}rom among its members," is
standard language added for clarity.

The only other changes are in style.

10-430 10-429. DUTIES.

THE TECHNICAL REVIEW COMMITTEE SHALL:

(1)  PROVIDE PEER REVIEW OVER RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
AT THE CENTER;

(2)  SERVE IN AN ADVISORY CAPACITY TO THE
EXECUTIVE BOARD AND THE SUPERINTENDENT OF THE CENTER; AND

(3)  SUBMIT AN ANNUAL REPORT TO THE EXECUTIVE
BOARD.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Article
59, § 31A(c)(3) and the second clause of the
first sentence and the entire second sentence of
(1).

GENERAL REVISOR'S NOTE:

Former Article 59, § 31(d), which provided for transfer
of employees to the Thomas B. Finan State Hospital Center,
is deleted as obsolete since the transfer has been
accomplished.

Former Article 59, § 31A(a)(5), which gave the
Department budget control over the Maryland Psychiatric
Research Center, is deleted as unnecessary in light of §
2-104(a) of this article, which gives the Secretary
budgetary control over all units of the Department.
