LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch. 21

THE ADMINISTRATIVE HEAD OF THE EASTERN SHORE HOSPITAL
CENTER SHALL:

(1)  ADVERTISE FOR AND RECEIVE BIDS FOR A
CONTRACT TO PROVIDE THE LAUNDRY SERVICES; AND

(2)   IF ANY BIDS ARE UNDER THE COST ESTIMATE,
CONTRACT FOR THE SERVICES WITH THE LOW BIDDER UNLESS THE
ADMINISTRATIVE HEAD FINDS THAT THE BIDDER WOULD NOT FULFILL
THE CONTRACT SATISFACTORILY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Article
59, § 31(e)(2), (4), and the second clause of
(3).

Former Article 59, § 31(e)(1), which defined
"hospital" to mean the Eastern Shore Hospital

title is used throughout this section.

The first clause of former Article .59, §
31(e)(3), which referred to completion of the
cost estimate, is deleted as unnecessary in light
of subsection (b)(2) of this section.

Former Article 59, § 31(e)(5), which provided for
possible continuation of the existing
arrangement, is deleted as obsolete since the
Administration indicates that the services now
are provided after competitive bidding.

The Commission to Revise the Annotated Code
notes, for consideration by the General Assembly,

that it may wish to consider whether this section
was intended to be superseded by the general
provisions for procurement, in Article 21 of the
Code.

10-410. CITIZENS' ADVISORY BOARDS ESTABLISHED.

THERE IS A CITIZENS' ADVISORY BOARD FOR EACH STATE
FACILITY.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section formerly appeared as the
first clause of Article 59, § 32A(a)(l).

It is set forth as a separate section for
emphasis.

The defined term "State facility" is substituted
for "public facility", to reflect the apparent
intent of former Article 59, § 32A(a)(l) to refer
to those public facilities under the
