HARRY HUGHES, Governor

543

without substantive change from former Article
59, § 30(b) and (c), § 32(a), the second sentence
of § 8(c), as that sentence related to the
removal of an administrative head, and the first
sentence of § 30(a).

The new, defined term "State facility" is
substituted for the broad term "public facility",
which would include a county or municipal
facility. Subsections (a), (b), and (d)(2) and
(3) of this section, which are derived from
former Article 59, § 30, are applicable to State
facilities only, in light of the second sentence
of former Article 59, § 30(a), which excluded
municipal and county hospitals. Subsections (c)
and (d)(1) of this section also appeared to apply
to State facilities. In light of this
substitution, the second sentence of former
Article 59, § 30(a) is deleted as unnecessary.

In this section and throughout this title, the
term "administrative head{s}" is substituted
for "superintendent{s}", to standardize the
references to this type of position.

Also throughout this section, reference to the
"Director" of Mental Hygiene is substituted for
the obsolete references to the former
Commissioner of Mental Hygiene. See the General
Revisor's Note to this article.

In the introductory clause of subsection (d) of
this section, the former reference to delegation
by the "Department" is deleted as unnecessary.

In subsection (d)(3) of this section, the phrase
"as the Director requires" is substituted for "at
intervals ... in such details as may be required
by the Commissioner", for brevity.

Defined terms: "Director" § 10-101
"Secretary" § 1-101 "State facility" § 10-101

10-409. LAUNDRY CONTRACTS OF EASTERN SHORE HOSPITAL CENTER.
