(Senate Bill 77)
AN ACT concerning
Baltimore City - Water System Bond Issue
FOR the purpose of reducing the total amount of debt which
the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore is authorized
to create under the terms and provisions of Chapter 208
of the Laws of Maryland of 1961, as the same was
amended by Chapter 10 of the Laws of Maryland of 1962
(March Special Session) and Chapter 6 of the Laws of
Maryland of 1969, from the amount of Eighteen Million
Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($18,500,000.00) to an
amount not exceeding Eighteen Million Two Hundred Fifty
Thousand Dollars ($18,250,000.00); and providing that
nothing in this Act shall change, alter, modify, or
release;: (a) any of the terms and provisions of
said Chapter 208, as amended, except in the manner and
to the extent set forth in this Act; (b) any of the
obligations and liabilities which said municipality has
incurred or may incur under the terms and provisions of
any certificates of indebtedness which said
municipality has heretofore issued and sold pursuant to
Chapter 208, as amended, and certain ordinances.
Preamble
WHEREAS, Chapter 208 of the Laws of Maryland of 1961,
as that was amended by Chapter 10 of the Laws of Maryland of
1962 (March Special Session), and by Chapter 6 of the Laws
of Maryland of 1969, authorized the Mayor and City Council
of Baltimore to borrow $18,500,000.00 and to use it to
extend, enlarge, develop and improve the municipal water
supply and the water system of Baltimore City; and
WHEREAS, Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 208, as
amended, the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore has enacted
the following ordinances:
(a) Ordnance Ordinance No. 1273, approved by the Mayor
of Baltimore City on June 22, 1962, and by the voters of
Baltimore City on November 6, 1962, which authorized the
City to borrow $9,250,000.00 and to use it to extend,
enlarge, develop, and improve the municipal water supply and
the water system of Baltimore City; bonds have been issued
and sold by the City in the amount of $9,250,000.00 pursuant
to such legislation;
(b) Ordinance No. 846, approved by the Mayor of
Baltimore City on June 22, 1966, and by the voters of
Baltimore City on November 8, 1966, which authorized the
