5352                                              VETOES

THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY IN THE EVENT AN APPROPRIATION IS
REQUESTED BY THE GOVERNOR IN THE BUDGET TO PAY ANY COSTS
INCURRED AS A RESULT OF CONTRACT TERMINATION IN WHOLE OR IN
PART.

(2) THE PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE AND THE SPEAKER
OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES SHALL APPOINT A SPECIAL COMMITTEE
COMPOSED OF 3 SENATORS AND 3 DELEGATES WHO SHALL REGULARLY
CONSULT WITH THE SECRETARY ON THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE
PROGRAM AND THE CONTRACT IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TERMS OF
THESE PROVISIONS.

(C) (1) THE SECRETARY OF TRANSPORTATION AND THE
SECRETARY OF HEALTH AND MENTAL HYGIENE SHALL FURNISH A JOINT
REPORT WITHIN 30 DAYS FROM THE DATE CONGRESS MODIFIES THE
PROVISIONS OF THE CLEAN AIR ACT TO THE LEGISLATIVE POLICY
COMMITTEE, THE SENATE CONSTITUTIONAL AND PUBLIC LAW
COMMITTEE, AND THE HOUSE ENVIRONMENTAL MATTERS COMMITTEE
OUTLINING THE STATUS OF CHANGES IN THE FEDERAL CLEAN AIR ACT
AS OF THAT DATE AND ALL OTHER RELATED AND PERTINENT
INFORMATION.

(2) THE SECRETARY OF TRANSPORTATION AND THE
SECRETARY OF HEALTH AND MENTAL HYGIENE SHALL ALSO FURNISH A
JOINT REPORT TO THE GOVERNOR AND THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY BY
JANUARY 15, 1983, CONCERNING ANY RECOMMENDED MODIFICATIONS
TO OR REPEAL OF THE STATE'S MOTOR VEHICLE EMISSIONS
INSPECTION PROGRAM.

23-208.

Any program adopted under this subtitle terminates on
[December 31, 1987] JUNE 30, 1988 unless, prior to its
termination, the period of operation is extended by an act
of the General Assembly.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1982.
