PART II.     COUNTY ADVISORY COMMITTEES.

10-308.     COUNTY ADVISORY COMMITTEES REQUIRED.

(A)   IN GENERAL.

EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS
SECTION, THE GOVERNING BODY OF EACH COUNTY SHALL ESTABLISH A
MENTAL HEALTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE.

(B)   INTERCOUNTY ADVISORY COMMITTEES.

THE GOVERNING BODIES OF TWO OR MORE COUNTIES MAY
ESTABLISH, BY AGREEMENT, AN INTERCOUNTY MENTAL HEALTH
ADVISORY COMMITTEE IF:

(1)  THE POPULATION OF ONE OF THE COUNTIES IS TOO
SMALL TO WARRANT THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMMUNITY MENTAL
HEALTH PROGRAM FOR THAT COUNTY; AND

(2)  THE DIRECTOR CONSENTS.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived
without substantive change from former Article
43, § 1J(c)(2), as that paragraph related to
advisory committees, and the first clause of the
first sentence of (1).

In subsection (a) of this section,     the former

reference to Baltimore City is     deleted as

unnecessary in light of the use of     the defined
term "county".

In subsection (b)(2) of this section, the former
reference "with the approval of the Secretary of
Health and Mental Hygiene" is deleted as
