A House Joint Resolution concerning
Car Pools
FOR the purpose of requesting the Maryland Transportation
Authority to extend the expiration date for commuter
ticket books for toll facilities and to permit commuter
ticket books to be transferred.
WHEREAS, Car pools are advantageous to the State of
Maryland and to the United States in reducing air pollution,
conserving fuel, and reducing congestion; and
WHEREAS, The sharing of commuting and highway toll
costs is accomplished through car pooling; and
WHEREAS, Toll commuter ticket books, which reduce the
cost of tolls, are not transferable to persons other than
the driver of the vehicle to which the book is registered
and may not be extended beyond 30 days; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That the
Maryland Transportation Authority is requested to extend the
expiration time for commuter ticket books and permit ticket
books to be transferred; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be sent to the
Honorable James Clark, Jr., President of the Senate of
Maryland; the Honorable Benjamin L. Cardin, Speaker of the
House of Delegates; and the Honorable Lowell K. Bridwell,
Secretary of Transportation, P.O. Box 8755,
Baltimore-Washington International Airport, Baltimore,
Maryland 21240.
