JOINT RESOLUTIONS
oysters by means of self-contained underwater breathing
apparatus diving or other diving techniques; (2) the
probable effects of these diving techniques on the supply of
seed oysters; and (3) whether these diving techniques to
harvest oysters could completely deplete the supply of
oysters for the tonging and dredging industries; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That the committee be composed of 3 members
of the House of Delegates, appointed by the Speaker of the
House of Delegates; 3 members of the Senate of Maryland,
appointed by the President of the Senate; and 3 6
representatives of the Department of Natural Resources,
appointed by the Secretary of Natural Resources; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That the Secretary of Natural Resources
designate the chairman of the committee; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the committee report its findings and
recommendations to the Legislative Policy Committee of the
General Assembly and the Governor by December 1, 1982; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution be forwarded
to: The Honorable Harry Hughes, Governor of Maryland; the
Honorable James Clark, Jr., President of the Senate; the
Honorable Benjamin L. Cardin, Speaker of the House of
Delegates; the Honorable James B. Coulter, Secretary of
Natural Resources, Tawes State Office Building, Annapolis,
Maryland 21401, for distribution to all P.A.D.I. and
N.A.U.I. dive shops in Maryland; Larry Simns, President, The
Maryland Watermen's Association, 48 Maryland Avenue,
Annapolis, Maryland 21401, for distribution to the 18
members of their Board of Directors, who will distribute
this Resolution to the Maryland Commercial Divers
Association, the Maryland Tongers Association, and the
Maryland Dredgers Association; Marshall McNott, Executive
Director, National Association of Underwater Instructors,
P.O. Box 630, Colton, California 92324; and Ralph Erickson,
President, Professional Association of Diving Instructors,
