ENTITIES AND SHALL INCLUDE THESE REPORTS AND PUBLICATIONS IN
THE LISTS FORWARDED TO THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY

UNDER SUBSECTION (D) OF THIS SECTION. THE DEPARTMENT OF

LEGISLATIVE REFERENCE.

(1) MAY REFUSE TO ACCEPT OR LIST ANY REPORT OR
PUBLICATION UNDER THIS SUBSECTION IF THE PERSON OR ENTITY
WHO REQUESTS ACCEPTANCE OR LISTING DOES NOT PROVIDE A
SUFFICIENT NUMBER OF COPIES TO MEET ANTICIPATED REQUESTS
FROM MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY; AND

(2) SHALL ADVISE ANY PRIVATE CITIZEN OR PRIVATE
ENTITY WHO INDICATES TO THE DEPARTMENT OF LEGISLATIVE
REFERENCE A DESIRE TO DISTRIBUTE COPIES OF ANY REPORT OR
PUBLICATION TO THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY THAT THE

GENERAL ASSEMBLY PREFERS THAT THE DISTRIBUTION BE

ACCOMPLISHED IN THE MANNER SET FORTH IN THIS SUBSECTION.

(H) ANY STATE AGENCY OR STATE OFFICIAL DESIRING TO
HAVE COPIES OF ANY REPORTS DISTRIBUTED TO MEMBERS OF THE
GENERAL ASSEMBLY MAY NOT DISTRIBUTE THE COPIES EXCEPT AS
PROVIDED FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF REPORTS UNDER SUBSECTION
(F) OF THIS SECTION.

56.

The Joint Budget and Audit Committee shall give
detailed and systematic attention and study to all the
functions of budget analysis and review, capital budget
study, fiscal policy, fiscal research, legislative
post-audit, departmental operation and efficiency within the
State government, and any other problems, matters, or
procedures covered by or related to the provisions of this
subtitle and the several officers and employees engaged
thereunder. The committee shall meet and organize promptly
after appointment, and thereafter it shall meet as often as
necessary in its judgment to discharge its duties and
accomplish its functions with celerity and efficiency. [The]
SUBJECT TO § 51 OF THIS ARTICLE, THE committee shall report
annually to the members of the General Assembly, together
with any recommendation it may nave for action or
consideration by members of the General Assembly; and this
report or any portion thereof may be separately made to the
Legislative Policy Committee.

SECTION 2 5. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That
section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland (as enacted by
Chapter 3 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1976)
read(s) as follows:
