HARRY HUGHES, Governor                                  4837

Commissioners all license fees collected by him, less [a fee
of $2] THE CLERK'S COMMISSION for the issuance of each
license[, in lieu of commissions,] and the Board of County
Commissioners shall pay the salaries and expenses of the
board of license commissioners for Calvert County. Where
the licensed place of business is located in an incorporated
town 50 percent of the net license fee shall be payable to
the incorporated town and the remaining 50 percent and all
the net license fees for places of business located outside
an incorporated town shall be used by the County
Commissioners for the purposes of the county.

(o) In Queen Anne's County the clerk shall account for
and pay to the County Commissioners within five days
following payment, all license fees received by him, less [a
fee of $2] THE CLERK'S COMMISSION for each license.

(r) In Washington County the clerk shall [forthwith
remit all] RETAIN THE CLERK'S COMMISSION AND PAY THE
REMAINING license fees collected by him to the board of
license commissioners for said county, who shall deduct
therefrom such sums as may be necessary to pay the salaries
of the board and such additional sum as the board may deem
necessary to pay its employees, and such other expenses as
the board may deem necessary, and shall pay over the net
proceeds of such license fees ratably to the incorporated
town in which the place of business is located or to the
County Commissioners for the use of the county, if the place
of business is not located in an incorporated town.

Article 38 - Fines and Forfeitures

5.

(a) One half of the fines imposed and recognizances
forfeited to the circuit court for the several counties of
the State shall be paid to the clerks of the respective
courts, to be expended under the direction of the judge or
judges of said courts, for the augmentation of the libraries
of said courts. This section DOES not [to] apply to Queen
Anne's, Anne Arundel, Somerset, Howard and Talbot counties.
[No commission or charge shall be paid to any clerk of the
court for collecting and paying over said fines.] THE CLERK
SHALL RETAIN A 5 PERCENT COMMISSION ON THE FINES AND
FORFEITURES COLLECTED. In Baltimore County, this section
shall not apply to fines imposed in gambling cases.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That sections(s)
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (as enacted by Chapter 133
of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1981) read(s) as
follows:
