county, or to the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, as
the case may be; and the board of county commissioners or
Mayor and City Council of Baltimore shall use the portion of
the receipts as may be necessary to pay refunds as
hereinafter provided, and devote the balance to the general
purposes of the county or city, as the case may be.
(b) In Allegany County upon receipt by the clerk of
the court of such license fees, he shall [pay over the same]
RETAIN THE CLERK'S COMMISSION AND PAY THE REMAINING FEES to
the county treasurer, who shall thereupon remit and pay unto
each and every incorporated town or city in said county one
half of the amount of license fees received from the clerk
for each and every license hereunder which shall have been
issued for a place of business located within the corporate
limits of the respective towns or cities. The chairman of
the board shall submit to the county treasurer the total
amount of the board's budget, including salaries for the
board members and such other employees as the board may deem
necessary, and all other necessary expenses._____The county
treasurer shall deposit the total amount requested to the
credit of the board, and shall pay the salaries semimonthly,
and other expenses upon draft properly signed by the
chairman of the board.
(c) In Anne Arundel County, the clerk of the Circuit
Court for the county shall remit to the City of Annapolis,
all license fees collected by him where the place of
business is located in the city, and to the county if the
place of business is located outside of the City of
Annapolis, less the [fee of $2] CLERK'S COMMISSION for the
issuance of each license. The county shall pay from the
receipts the salaries and expenses of the board of license
commissioners of the county, and of its employees as
approved by the State Comptroller, and shall devote the
balance of the receipts to the general purposes of the
county, and the City of Annapolis shall devote the receipts
to the general purposes of the city.
(e) In Baltimore County, the clerk of the Circuit
Court for the county shall retain the [sum of $2] CLERK'S
COMMISSION from each license fee collected by him, for the
issuance of each license[, in lieu of commissions]. The
clerk shall remit the remainder of the fees to the county,
who shall, out of the remainder received from the clerk, pay
all salaries and expenses of the board of license
commissioners as determined by the county, and devote the
balance of the license fees, to the general purposes of the
county; and the phrase "the general purposes of the county"
in Baltimore County shall be construed to include the
general purposes of the highways and the general purposes of
the metropolitan district department of the county.
(f) In Calvert County the clerk of the Circuit Court
for the county shall remit to the Board of County
