SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:
Article 67 - Washington Suburban Sanitary District
1-1.
(e) With respect to the chairman, vice chairman and
commissioners who commenced their terms in such offices
prior to [June 1, 1972, the annual salary of the chairman of
the commission shall be six thousand seven hundred dollars
($6,700.00), of the vice chairman, six thousand four hundred
dollars ($6,400,00); and of the other members of the
commission six thousand two hundred dollars ($6,200.00), all
payable bi-weekly, and for the chairman, vice chairman and
other members of the commission who, respectively, commence
such term of office on June 1, 1972 or thereafter,] JULY 1,
1982 whether by first appointment or election or
reappointment or re-election, as elsewhere provided for in
this section, the [respective salaries] THE ANNUAL SALARY OF
THE CHAIRMAN shall be [eight thousand five hundred dollars
($8,500.00)] $10,500, OF THE VICE CHAIRMAN, [eight thousand
three hundred dollars ($8,300.00)] $10,300, and [eight
thousand dollars ($8,000.00)] OF THE OTHER MEMBERS OF THE
COMMISSION, $10,000, all payable bi-weekly. The chairman
and vice-chairman shall perform such duties as the
commission shall [from time to time] designate. The
commission shall[,] in June [1972, and in June] every year
[thereafter], at its first meeting in that month or as soon
thereafter as possible, elect from among its members a
chairman and [vice-chairmen] VICE CHAIRMAN, one to be from
Prince George's County and one to be from Montgomery County,
who shall serve for one year or until their successors are
elected and qualified. The office of chairman, and the
office of vice-chairman, shall rotate between the counties,
