(5) A member of the State Aviation
Administration police force or the Maryland Port
Administration police force of the Department of
Transportation or the toll facilities police force of the
Maryland Transportation Authority; or
(6) A member of the University of Maryland or
Morgan State University police force; or
(7) A member of a police force for a State
university or college under the direction and control of the
board of trustees of State universities and colleges; or
(8) Appointed, or given the powers of, a special
policeman employed and compensated by the State for the
enforcement of lav; and the maintenance of order on property
of the State or of any of its agencies, or for the
protection of such property; a member of the Annapolis
public buildings and grounds security force; or a member of
the Baltimore public buildings and grounds security force;
or
(9) The sheriff of any county or of Baltimore
City and whose usual duties include the making of arrests;
or
(10) A regularly employed deputy sheriff of any
county and who is compensated by the county and whose usual
duties include the making of arrests; or
(11) A member of the Natural Resources police of
the Department of Natural Resources; OR.
(12) A SWORN FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER,
BUT ONLY IF THE FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER IS RENDERING
ASSISTANCE TO A POLICE OFFICER AS DEFINED ABOVE, IN AN
EMERGENCY OR AT THE REQUEST OF THE POLICE OFFICER. A
FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER EXERCISING THE POWERS OF A
POLICE OFFICER UNDER THIS PARAGRAPH WILL HAVE THE SAME LEGAL
STATUS AND IMMUNITY FROM SUIT AS THE POLICE OFFICER WHO IS
BEING ASSISTED.
(G) (1) A FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER WHO, IN HIS
OFFICIAL CAPACITY, IS AUTHORIZED BY LAW TO MAKE ARRESTS, HAS
THE POWERS OF ARREST SET FORTH IN THIS SECTION, IF THE
OFFICER IS RENDERING ASSISTANCE TO A__POLICE OFFICER AS
DEFINED IN SUBSECTION (F), AT THE REQUEST OF THE POLICE
OFFICER OR IN AN EMERGENCY.
(2) A FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER EXERCISING
THE POWER OF ARREST UNDER THIS SECTION HAS THE SAME LEGAL
STATUS AND IMMUNITY FROM SUIT AS THE POLICE OFFICER TO WHOM
THE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER IS RENDERING ASSISTANCE.
