AN ACT concerning

Local Charters and Referendum - Petitions

FOR the purpose of providing procedures relating to
petitions for charter adoption, charter amendment, and
referendum; repealing certain duties of the Secretary
of State with respect to certain petitions; requiring
the State Administrative Board of Election Laws to
perform certain duties; making it unlawful to perform
certain acts with regard to such petitions; providing
for the effect of invalidity of a petition signature;
generally relating to petitions filed pursuant to
Article XI-A and Article XVI of the Constitution; and
making this Act subject to a contingency.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF

MARYLAND, That Section(s) 1-1(a)(1), of Article 33

Election Code, of the Annotated Code of Maryland be

renumbered to be Section(s) 1-1(a)(1A).
