SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That all laws or
parts of laws, public general or public local, inconsistent
with this Act, are repealed to the extent of the
inconsistency.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1982 January 1, 1983.

AN ACT concerning
Special Election Costs - Fifth Congressional District
FOR the purpose of requiring the Board of Public Works to
pay a certain amount amounts to the governing body
bodies of Prince George's County and Montgomery County
as reimbursement for the cost of conducting a special
primary and a special election in the Fifth
Congressional District during 1981; providing a
maximum limit limits to the reimbursement; and
providing that the Board of Public Works shall review
or have reviewed the amount amounts requested for
reimbursement.
Preamble
WHEREAS, A special primary and a special election were
held in the Fifth Congressional District of this State
during the Spring of 1981; and
WHEREAS, The requirements of law are such that the
special election process must occur on very short notice and
is therefore rarely anticipated in the budget of the county
or counties affected; and
WHEREAS, The Fifth Congressional District occupies a
substantial portion of Prince George's County ; and a
portion of Montgomery County; and
WHEREAS, The total cost to Prince George's County in
conducting the special primary and special election was
$157,553.97 ; , and the total cost to Montgomery County
in conducting the special primary and special election was
$15,352.53; and
