Article 66B - Zoning and Planning
2.10.

(A)  The mayor and city council may provide by
ordinance for the enforcement of this article and of any
ordinance or regulation made thereunder. [A] EXCEPT AS
PROVIDED BY SUBSECTION (B) OF THIS SECTION, A violation of
this article or of such ordinance or regulation is [hereby
declared to be] a misdemeanor, and the mayor and city
council may provide for [the] punishment [thereof] by fine
or imprisonment or both. It is also empowered to provide
civil penalties for such violation.

(B)  THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL MAY PROVIDE BY
ORDINANCE THAT A VIOLATION OF THIS ARTICLE OR OF AN
ORDINANCE OR REGULATION ENACTED UNDER THIS ARTICLE IS SHALL
BE A CIVIL ZONING VIOLATION. THE VIOLATION SHALL BE
ENFORCED AS PROVIDED IN § 7.01(D)(C) OF THIS ARTICLE.

(C)  In case any building, sign, or structure is
erected, constructed, reconstructed, altered, repaired,
converted, or maintained, or any building, sign, structure,
or land is used . in violation of this article or of any
ordinance or other regulation made under authority conferred
hereby, the proper local authorities of Baltimore City, in
addition to other remedies, may institute any appropriate
action or proceedings to prevent such unlawful erection,
construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair,
conversion, maintenance, or use, to restrain, correct, or
abate such violation, to prevent the occupancy of said
building, structure, or land, or to prevent any illegal act,
conduct, business, or use in or about such premises.

7.01.

(a) The local legislative body may provide by
ordinance for the enforcement of this article and of any
ordinance or regulation made thereunder. [A] EXCEPT AS
PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (C) OF THIS SECTION, A violation of
this article or of such ordinance or regulation is [hereby
declared to be] a misdemeanor, and such local legislative
body may provide for [the] punishment [thereof] by fine or

penalties for such violation.

(C) (1) IN THIS SUBSECTION, THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE
THE MEANINGS INDICATED.

(I) "COMMISSION" MEANS THE PLANNING AND
ZONING COMMISSION OR SIMILAR BODY OF THE COUNTY.

(II) "LOCAL LEGISLATIVE BODY" MEANS:
