list of jurors so summoned, and the trial before said jury,
including instructions to the jury, motions for new trial,
and judgment N.O.V. and matters which may be considered on
appeal, shall proceed as far as practical in accordance with
the statutes, rules, and practice pertaining to the
selection and empanelling of jurors and trial before juries
in other civil cases, except to the extent otherwise
provided for in this subsection or elsewhere in this
subtitle. The sole question to be submitted for
determination by the jury shall be whether the defendant is
or is not the father of the child or children. No comment
or reference shall be made or permitted with respect to the
defendant's failure to testify.

The clerks of the circuit courts [of the counties and
the Circuit Court No. 2 of the City of Baltimore] shall keep
and maintain a docket known as "paternity docket," in which
shall be kept all records, proceedings, and order pertaining
to each case pursuant to this subtitle.

(a) A certified copy of a custody decree of another
state may be filed in the office of the clerk of any circuit
court of any county [or the appropriate court of the Supreme
Bench of Baltimore City]. The clerk shall treat the decree
in the same manner as a custody decree of such court. A
custody decree so filed has the same effect and shall be
enforced in like manner as a custody decree rendered by a
court of this State.

(a) The clerks of the circuit courts [of the counties
and the appropriate courts of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore
City] shall maintain a registry in which [he] THEY shall
enter the following:
(1) Certified copies of custody decrees of other
states received for filing;
(2) Communications as to the pendency of custody
proceedings in other states;
(3) Communications concerning a finding of
inconvenient forum by a court of another state; and
(4) Other communications or documents concerning
custody proceedings in another state which may affect the
jurisdiction of a court of this State or the disposition to
be made by it in a custody proceeding.
