Article 56 - Licenses
550 501.

(a)  [The certificates of registration issued in the
year in which this subtitle goes into effect shall expire as
of the year in which the licenses are issued. Thereafter
certificates] CERTIFICATES OF REGISTRATION shall be issued
for no longer than [one year] 2 YEARS. All certificates
shall expire on the thirty-first day of October [next
succeeding] OF EACH EVEN NUMBERED ODD-NUMBERED YEAR unless
renewed BIENNIALLY for the next [year] 2 YEARS. However,
student licenses shall expire on the 31st day of August
[next succeeding] OF EACH EVEN NUMBERED YEAR unless
renewed for the next year.

(b)  Certificates may be renewed BIENNIALLY by
application on renewal forms to be supplied by the Board on
request made prior to the thirty-first day of October of
each EVEN NUMBERED ODD-NUMBERED year and, prior to the 31st
day of August of each EVEN NUMBERED year for students, and
the payment of the renewal fees provided in this subtitle.
Certificates of renewal issued to apprentices shall be
limited to two in number.

(c)  Any holder of a license under the provisions of
this subtitle who has been inactive for a period of five
years or more shall be required to take and pass an
examination prescribed by the Board before a renewal of a
certificate of registration is issued.

(d)  Any holder of a license issued for the teaching of
beauty culture under the provisions of this subtitle, shall
be required to attend at least one course, seminar or
program approved by the Board once every two years and such
holder shall be required to submit to the Board a
certificate verifying such attendance before a renewal of a
certificate of registration is issued.

(a) All certificates of registration and of endorsement
expire on [January] MARCH 31 of each ODD-NUMBERED year.

(b)  A person who practices the fitting of hearing aids
shall [annually] BIENNIALLY pay to the Board a fee of [$40]
$80 for a renewal of his certificate of registration or
certificate of endorsement, A thirty-day grace period shall
be allowed after expiration of a certificate during which a
certificate may be renewed on payment of a fee of [$45] $90
to the Board. The Board may suspend the certificate of any
person who fails to renew his certificate before the
expiration of the thirty-day grace period. After the
