SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety
and having been passed by a yea and nay vote supported by
three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage shall take effect July 1, 1982.

AN ACT concerning

Civil Damages - Emergency Aid

FOR the purpose of providing immunity from civil liability
for certain corporations and certain fire department
personnel rendering aid under certain conditions; and
clarifying language.

Section 5-309(b)

Annotated Code of Maryland

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland

(as enacted by Chapter____ (H.B. 523) of the Acts of the

General Assembly of 1982) read(s) as follows:

Article - Courts and Judicial Proceedings

5-309.

(b) Subsection (a) of this section applies to the
following:

(1)  An individual who is licensed by this State
to provide medical care;

(2)  A member of any state, county, municipal, or
volunteer fire department[,] OR ambulance and rescue
squad [or] , law enforcement agency [or of] , the
National Ski Patrol System, OR A CORPORATE FIRE DEPARTMENT
