(a)  An applicant who fulfills the requirements of [§
741] § 513 OF THIS SUBTITLE and who has not previously
applied to take the examination provided under [subsection
(a) of § 742] § 514(A) OF THIS SUBTITLE may apply to the
Board for a temporary certificate of registration.

(b)  Upon receiving an application provided under
subsection (a) of this section accompanied by a fee of $5,
the Board shall issue a temporary certificate of
registration which entitles the applicant to practice the
fitting of hearing aids for a period ending ten days after
the conclusion of the next examination given after the date
of issue.

(c)  No temporary certificate of registration shall be
issued by the Board under this section unless the applicant
shows to the satisfaction of the Board that he is or will be
supervised and trained by a person who holds a valid
certificate of registration or certificate of endorsement
issued under this subtitle.

(d)  If a person who holds a temporary certificate of
registration issued under this section does not take the
next examination given after the date of issue, the
temporary certificate shall not be renewed unless there are
extenuating circumstances in the judgment of the Board.

(e)  If a person who holds a temporary certificate of
registration issued under this section takes and fails to
pass the next examination given after the date of issue, the
Board may renew the temporary certificate of registration
for a period ending ten days after the conclusion of the
next examination given after the date of the renewal. Three
renewals may be allowed, but in any event the time for which
an individual may hold a temporary certificate of
registration shall not exceed eighteen (18) months. The fee
for a renewal shall be $20.

[747A.] 520.

Notwithstanding [§ 747 of this article] § 519 OF THIS
SUBTITLE, after November 1, 1977, each applicant for renewal
shall successfully complete biennially one or more Board
approved continuing education programs providing a total of
20 hours of instruction.

[750.] 523.

(a) There shall be a Board of Examiners for Hearing
Aid Dealers. The Board shall consist of five members to be
appointed by the Governor with the advice and consent of the
Senate. The Governor shall designate one member as
