(III)  [or aid in so doing,] AID ANY PERSON
IN FALSELY MARKING, GRADING, ESTIMATING, OR REPORTING ON THE
EXAMINATION OR STANDING OF ANY INDIVIDUAL EXAMINED UNDER
THIS TITLE; or

(IV)  [furnish to] GIVE any person [except
in answer to inquiries of the state commissioner of
personnel,] any special information [for the purpose of
either improving or injuring] TO IMPROVE OR INJURE the
rating of [any such] THE person for appointment or
employment.

(2) NOTWITHSTANDING THE PROVISIONS OF PARAGRAPH
(1)(IV) OF THIS SUBSECTION, A PERSON MAY ANSWER ANY INQUIRY
FROM THE SECRETARY OF PERSONNEL.

(D)  [No] A [applicant shall] CANDIDATE FOR EMPLOYMENT
MAY NOT deceive the [commission] WSSC or the [state
commissioner of personnel] SECRETARY OF PERSONNEL for the

[11-16] 11-116. Duties of Secretary of Personnel;
applicability of State employment system.

(A)  The [state commissioner of personnel is hereby
authorized and directed to] SECRETARY OF PERSONNEL SHALL

SECRETARY under this [subtitle] TITLE[, but the state
employment].

(B)  THE STATE MERIT system [shall] DOES not [otherwise

[For the purpose of defraying the expenses of
