district once established by or pursuant to this or any
other Act of the General Assembly, shall not be diminished
by any action of either the county council for Montgomery
County or the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning
Commission.
(b-1) The Montgomery County Council may, and it is
hereby authorized to, extend the boundaries of the
Washington Suburban Sanitary District, within Montgomery
County, from time to time, by ordinance, following a
referral of its proposed ordinance to the Washington
Suburban Sanitary Commission and the Maryland-National
Capital Park and Planning Commission for the review and
recommendations of the commissions. The commissions shall,
within thirty days of such referral, respectively transmit
to the county council their recommendations on the proposed
ordinance. In the event that either of the commissions
shall recommend against the enactment of such ordinance, a
two-thirds vote of the county council shall be necessary for
the enactment of the proposed ordinance extending the
boundaries of the Washington Suburban Sanitary District to
the area set forth in the proposed ordinance or any part
thereof.
SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That section(s)
of the Annotated Code of Maryland read(s) as follows:
19-101.
THE SANITARY DISTRICT IS COMPOSED OF THOSE PARTS OF
MONTGOMERY AND PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTIES THAT ARE DESCRIBED
IN CHAPTER ____, (H.B. ____) OF THE ACTS OF THE GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF 1982.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1982.
