TITLE 8. MISUSE OF ALCOHOL.

SUBTITLE 1. DEFINITIONS; GENERAL PROVISIONS.

8-101. DEFINITIONS.

(A)   IN GENERAL.

IN THIS TITLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS
INDICATED.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language used as
the standard introductory language to a
definition section.

(B)  ADMINISTRATION.

"ADMINISTRATION" MEANS THE ALCOHOLISM CONTROL
ADMINISTRATION.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection is new language added
to avoid repetition, of the full title "Alcoholism
Control Administration".

Throughout this title, reference to the
Alcoholism Control Administration is substituted
for references to the former Division of
Alcoholism Control. Therefore, former Article
2C, § 103(b), which defined "division of
alcoholism control" and "division" to mean the
Administration, is deleted as unnecessary.

(C)  CHRONIC ALCOHOLIC.

"CHRONIC ALCOHOLIC" MEANS AN INDIVIDUAL WHO CHRONICALLY
AND HABITUALLY DRINKS ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES SO MUCH THAT:

(1)   IT INJURES THE HEALTH OF THE INDIVIDUAL;

(2)   IT SUBSTANTIALLY INTERFERES WITH THE SOCIAL
OR ECONOMIC FUNCTIONING OF THE INDIVIDUAL; OR

(3)  THE INDIVIDUAL CANNOT CONTROL THE DRINKING.
