AN ACT concerning

Overdue Taxes

FOR the purpose of providing that taxes that are overdue, in
arrears, and payable to Pocomoke City, Ocean City,
Berlin, or Snow Hill shall bear interest at the rate
fixed by the respective Mayor and City Council of each
town; and providing that the interest rate may not
exceed a certain amount.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:

Article 81 - Revenue and Taxes

48.

(g) (5) TAXES OVERDUE, IN ARREARS, AND PAYABLE TO
POCOMOKE CITY, OCEAN CITY, BERLIN, OR SNOW HILL SHALL BEAR
INTEREST AT THE RATE A RATE NOT TO EXCEED 1 1/2 PERCENT FOR
EACH MONTH OR FRACTION THEREOF, AS FIXED BY THE RESPECTIVE
MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF EACH TOWN.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1982.
