SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:

Article 27 - Crimes and Punishments

[155.

(a)  Every building hereafter constructed,
reconstructed or adapted for use as a hotel shall be

equipped with a fire escape or fire escapes, so designed and
constructed as to offer a means of egress from every floor
thereof above the second floor.

(b)  Every door or   other opening offering a means of
egress to such fire     escape shall be plainly marked and
labelled with a lighted   sign, upon which shall be the word
"Exit."

(c)  Any violation of the provisions of this subtitle
shall be deemed a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof
shall be subject to a fine of not more than fifty dollars
($50.00), and each day that said violation shall continue
shall be deemed a separate violation provided, however, that
the provisions of this section shall not apply to the City
of Baltimore.]
