CHAPTER 743

(House Bill 1715)

AN ACT concerning

Electrologists - Examinations

FOR the purpose of requiring the State Board of
Electrologists to administer examinations for licensing
electrologists at least once a year; requiring an
applicant for an electrologist's license who fails 2
reexaminations, and who wishes to retake the
examination to complete an education program that the
Board requires; and permitting the Board to waive the
theory section of the electrologist's examination for
individuals licensed to practice electrology in any
other state.

BY repealing and reenacting, with amendments,

Article - Health Occupations

Section 5-304(b) and (e), and 5-305(a)

Annotated Code of Maryland

(1981 Volume and 1981 Supplement)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:

Article - Health Occupations

5-304.

(b) (1) The Board shall give examinations to
applicants at least [twice] ONCE a year, at the times and
places that the Board determines.

(2) THE BOARD MAY GIVE REEXAMINATIONS TO
APPLICANTS WHO FAIL ALL OR PART OF THE EXAMINATION AT THE
TIMES AND PLACES THAT THE BOARD DETERMINES.

(e) (1) An applicant may retake an examination or a
failed section of an examination after paying to the Board a
reexamination fee of $50.

(2) An applicant who fails two reexaminations
may retake the examination only if the applicant:
