Parking Permits
FOR the purpose of repealing a certain provision that
permits application for a disabled person's
registration number on behalf of a certain temporarily
disabled person; providing that an applicant for
renewal of a disabled person's registration number is
not required to submit proof of the handicap to the
Motor Vehicle Administration; requiring a certain
applicant for renewal of a disabled person's
registration number to submit a certain affidavit to
the Motor Vehicle Administration, which certifies that
the applicant continues to provide transportation for a
certain handicapped individual; prohibiting the
commission of fraud or misrepresentation in applying
for or using certain special registration; providing
for application to the Motor Vehicle Administration for
a disabled person's parking permit by certain persons;
requiring certain applicants for a disabled person's
parking permit to submit certain proof of handicap to
the Motor Vehicle Administration; making stylistic
changes; clarifying language; and generally relating to
the application for and issuance and renewal of a
special, disabled person's registration number and a
disabled person's parking permit.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:
Article - Transportation
13-616.
(a) (1) The owner of any vehicle described in
paragraph (2) of this subsection may apply to the
Administration for the assignment to that vehicle of a
special, disabled [persons] PERSON'S registration number, if
the applicant, a dependent of the applicant, or any
individual who depends on the applicant for transportation:
(i) Has permanently lost the use of a leg
or an arm;
(ii) Is so severely AND PERMANENTLY
disabled as to be unable to move without a wheelchair or
crutches;
