LAWS OF MARYLAND

Ch. 550

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland read(s) as follows:

Article 5 - Calvert County

TITLE 10.1. DISCHARGE OF FIREARMS

10.1-101.

(A)   IN THIS TITLE, THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE
MEANINGS INDICATED.

(B)   "BUILDING USED BY HUMAN BEINGS" MEANS ANY
BUILDING, RESIDENCE, CAMP, OR ACCESSORY BUILDING, WHETHER
OCCUPIED, VACANT, OR ABANDONED WHICH CAN BE USED AS A
RESIDENCE, WHETHER OCCUPIED OR VACANT.

(C)   "DISCHARGE" INCLUDES SHOOTING OR, FIRING, AND
UNLOADING A FIREARM.

(D)   "EVIDENCE OF PERMISSION" MEANS A WRITING THAT
SPECIFIES:

PROPERTY;
BE USED;

(1)  THE NAME OF THE PERSON AUTHORIZED TO USE THE

(2)  THE IDENTITY OF THE PROPERTY AUTHORIZED TO

(3)  THE DATE AND TIME WHEN THE PERMISSION IS
EFFECTIVE; AND

(4)  THE SIGNED AUTHORIZATION BY THE PROPERTY
OWNER OR LESSEE OR, IF COUNTY PROPERTY IS INVOLVED, BY A
DESIGNATED COUNTY OFFICIAL DESIGNATED BY THE COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS.

(E) (1) "FIREARM" MEANS ANY PORTABLE OR STATIONARY
WEAPON FROM WHICH A SHOT IS DISCHARGED BY AN EXPLOSIVE.

(2) "FIREARM" INCLUDES A HANDGUN, RIFLE, AND
SHOTGUN, AND PISTOL.

10.1-102.

EXCEPT FOR THE LANDOWNER, LAND LESSEE, OR A LAW
ENFORCEMENT OFFICER IN THE LINE OF DUTY, A PERSON MAY NOT
DISCHARGE A FIREARM:

(1) WITHIN IN A PLATTED SUBDIVISION WITHIN 150
YARDS OF A BUILDING USED BY HUMAN BEINGS IN CALVERT COUNTY;
OR
