(II) WAGES FOR WORK WHICH ARE NOT LESS
THAN 80 PERCENT OF THE INDIVIDUAL'S AVERAGE WEEKLY WAGE AS
DETERMINED UNDER THE FEDERAL TRADE ACT OF 1974, AS AMENDED.

TO THE EXTENT NECESSARY TO ASSURE THAT MARYLAND'S
UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE LAW MAY BE CERTIFIED BY -THE U.S.
SECRETARY OF LABOR PURSUANT TO § 3304 OF THE FEDERAL
INTERNAL REVENUE CODE AND UNLESS THE PROVISIONS OF THIS
ARTICLE CLEARLY INDICATE AN INTENT TO THE CONTRARY, THE
PROVISIONS OF THIS ARTICLE SHALL BE CONSTRUED IN A MANNER
CONSISTENT WITH THE RELEVANT PROVISIONS OF THE FEDERAL
INTERNAL REVENUE CODE, THE FEDERAL SOCIAL SECURITY ACT, THE
FEDERAL-STATE EXTENDED UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION ACT OF
1970, AND THE FEDERAL TRADE ACT OF 1974, AS THESE ACTS MAY
BE AMENDED FROM TIME TO TIME.
SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1982.

AN ACT concerning
Pensions - Administration of State Systems
FOR the purpose of moving the Maryland State Retirement
Systems from within the Department of Personnel;
providing for the creation of a new Board of Trustees
with the powers and duties of the Board of Trustees of
the Employees' Retirement System; providing for
fiduciary capacity and the funding of administrative
expenses; providing for the Division of Social Security
to remain within the Department of Personnel;
abolishing the Advisory Investment Committee and the
Division of Investments; providing for a Medical Board;
providing for the transfer of the powers and duties of
the Board of Trustees of the Teachers' Retirement
System; providing for fiduciary capacity and the
funding of administrative expenses; providing for the
transfer of the powers and duties relevant to the
Pension System for Employees of the State of Maryland;
providing for fiduciary capacity and the funding of
administrative expenses; providing for the transfer of
