AN ACT concerning

Waterborne Marine Fire Services Contracts

FOR the purpose of providing express authority for the
Department of Transportation to enter into contracts
with counties and Baltimore City for the provision of
waterborne marine fire. protection and related
waterborne emergency services to port facilities and to
vessels within the territorial jurisdiction of the
Maryland Port Administration.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That section(s) of the Annotated Code of Maryland
read(s) as follows:

THE DEPARTMENT MAY ENTER INTO CONTRACTS WITH COUNTIES
AND BALTIMORE CITY FOR THE PROVISION OF WATERBORNE MARINE
FIRE PROTECTION AND RELATED WATERBORNE EMERGENCY SERVICES TO
PORT FACILITIES, AS DEFINED IN § 6-101 OF THIS ARTICLE, AND
TO VESSELS THAT ARE IN ANY OF THE NAVIGABLE WATERS OF THIS
STATE WITHIN THE TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF THE MARYLAND
PORT ADMINISTRATION.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That this Act
shall take effect July 1, 1982.
